The Night Tiger by Yangsze Choo
We have just finished reading and discussing "The Night Tiger" by Yangsze Choo and we rated it high, 8.5/10! It is a busy book that begins, follows and ends with a severed finger! There is a lot happening in this historical fiction including murder, romance, Confucianism, mysticism, all set in the 1930s in Malaya. It could easily become confusing or overwhelming but instead the story is told well, developing the characters and plot carefully while still
leaving room for one's imagination. One member commented that when you pick up the book to continue reading, you feel like you are putting on a cosy sweater--perfect for these rainy days!
