The April Enak! was held at the WTF Restaurant in Bangsar. The somewhat curious name stands for What Tasty Food- a name I think we all can agree on!
The restaurant was started by three couples. They felt KL could do with more good Indian vegetarian restaurants and so decided to start their very own. Their goal is to serve good quality food with freshly-made ingredients, no MSG and using good quality oils. Everything is made from scratch – even their cottage cheese (paneer).
Their menu included Indian street food with some fusion and western items.
We had 15 Enakkers and two guests who joined us for lunch. First, we were served four dishes: – Chickpea Salad, Dahi Puri, Tandoori Platter, and Palak Chaat. This was accompanied by a pureed mango drink with basil seeds. We all ate well and really enjoyed these first dishes. To everyone’s surprise, these were only the starters. For the main course we had Gunghat Wali Sabzi, Dal Makhani, and Peas Pulau with Butter Naan. The meal was completed with a sweet Gulab Jamun.
Priti, one of the WTF (What Tasty Food) owners, joined us during lunch and told us the story about starting their restaurant. I think many of us want to revisit this restaurant, and bring family and friends too.
