UMAC House

Address: No. 1 Jalan 12/5 Pjs 12 46200 Petaling Jaya Selangor Malaysia

The UMAC House is the University of Malaya’s Academic Club where 16 Happy Enakkers enjoyed a Banana Leaf lunch. We even welcomed ‘home’ two visiting guests who were well known faces to Enak.
Because we met early at the restaurant, it was not busy. We managed cheerful chats on the terrace before taking our places at the table.

Normally the Restaurant serves the food in trays and in buffet style, but as a special treat for MCG Enakkers the lovely Ambiga arranged the food to be served on fresh banana leaves and in the air-conditioned room of the club.

Our leaves were filled with four different veggies, the choice between Indian rice and white rice together with dahl, some crispy pappadums and a piece of fried chicken.

This delicious food was accompanied by a refreshing mango lassi.  Ambiga had kindly prepared a special dessert just for us.

When the food was served, it was remarkably quiet at the table…. a very good sign!

After finishing all this very tasty food, we still had time to catch up a bit more with old and new friends before we had the traditional group photo.

We thank all who joined us and for those who weren’t able to, we can surely recommend you to have lunch at UMAC House one day.

UMAC stands for University Malaya Academic Club. You’ll find it opposite the MAHSA building.

(No worries: WAZE will guide you there!)
This restaurant is situated in an old colonial house and the terrace overlooks a spacious garden for that extra charm!
The food is served buffet style with white rice, Indian rice, paretal, mutton and chicken varuval.

The choice of 3 from 8 different veggies, a ‘pappadum’, dahl and water costs only 5RM.

You can add dishes like fried fish or fried chicken for a little extra.
