ENAK! THE SHISHA LOUNGE – JUNE 13TH, 2019
Hosted by Desiree den Ouden and Pamela De Lange-Storck
Desiree and Pamela invited Enak! members for lunch at The Shisha Lounge bistro in Mont Kiara Solaris and we were with a group of 15 food lovers that day.
Middle Eastern food has become more popular in Malaysia, not only because it offers a delicious addition to halal food variations but also due to the fact that Malaysia has many business ties with this region. This also makes many Middle Eastern tourists feel at home when they visit Malaysia.
Since the holy month of Ramadhan ended on the 5th of June and Muslims celebrate the successful completion of fasting it was appropriate to choose this cuisine for our June Enak!
Our starters were all vegetarian dishes with the delicious freshly baked bread. The choice of dishes consisted of Hummus (all-time favourite), Persian olives, Zeytoon (a pomegranate paste with walnut, sliced olives and spices), Dolme (stuffed grape leaves), Mirza Ghasemi (grilled eggplant in savoury tomato and garlic sauce) andTabuleh.
The main course was a large plate of chicken, lamb and fish kebabs, accompanied with rice.
In addition to a variety of tasty food we also had lots of fun catching up with friends we hadn’t seen for a while.
