Mrs Lily Yew is a Nyonya who is passionate about her Peranakan heritage, especially about kebayas, sarongs and vintage jewellery. 

On 5th March at Warong Old China, she kindly shared her knowledge of Peranakan jewellery pieces which were specially made for the Nyonyas and Babas of yesteryear.

Peranakan jewellery is eclectic and known for its complex design and ornamental charm. Mrs Yew shared stories of the Nyonya ladies’ art of adornment and the meaning of their jewellery designs.
