Violet Dorall and Keats Markandu took the lead in planning and organizing this event, ensuring that everyone enjoyed a truly memorable gastronomical afternoon celebrating Filipino cuisine. Their meticulous efforts created an immersive experience filled with delicious flavors and cultural appreciation.
To kick off the event, Violet delivered a captivating introduction to the Philippines, highlighting its breathtaking archipelago and rich culinary heritage. She provided insights into the dishes that would be served in addition to sharing fascinating Filipino traditions, setting the stage for an authentic cultural feast.
A special highlight of the afternoon was the presence of Mr. Double Medrano, an invited guest who serenaded the audience with two beautiful Tagalog songs. With the enthusiastic participation of Enakers and guests, his performance added a heartfelt musical touch to the dining experience.
Twenty members and two guests were treated to an array of Filipino delicacies, including succulent pork and chicken dishes, as well as a flavorful seafood soup brimming with prawns and fish. The vibrant flavors transported everyone to the heart of the Philippines, making for an unforgettable dining experience for the small fee of RM50.
Following the main meal, Keats energized the group with a lively quiz, featuring questions about the dishes enjoyed and intriguing facts about the Philippines. Guests eagerly participated, and those who answered the most questions correctly were rewarded with prizes, adding an element of fun and friendly competition to the afternoon.
To conclude the feast on a sweet note, everyone indulged in a delectable serving of Filipino flan—a perfect ending to an already delightful meal.
In recognition of their dedication and hard work in making this event a success, both Santhi and Keats who are part of the Enak team, were presented with beautiful bouquets of flowers, a small token of appreciation for their outstanding efforts.
